Adventures with Tilley – Terms & Conditions

By booking or attending any service offered by Adventures with Tilley, you agree to the following Terms. These apply to all services, including social walks, neutral walks, social skills sessions, 1:1 training, online support, workshops, and community events.
1. Definitions
“We”, “Us”, “Our” — Adventures with Tilley
“You”, “Client”, “Guardian” — the person responsible for the dog attending
“Dog” — any dog attending our services
“Services” — all walks, sessions, events, and activities provided
2. Equipment Requirements
To ensure safety and comfort:
Mandatory:
Secure, well-fitted harness
Long line (standard or biothane)
Basket muzzle for reactive dogs
ID tag (as required by UK law)
Not permitted:
Retractable leads
Inappropriate or unsafe equipment
Slip leads may be used as a backup only.
We reserve the right to refuse participation if the equipment is unsafe or unsuitable.
3. Guardian Responsibility for Equipment
You must ensure:
The equipment fits correctly and cannot be escaped
All items are in good condition
Muzzles allow full panting, drinking, and comfort
Unsafe equipment must be adjusted or replaced before participation.
4. Booking Transfers
48+ hours’ notice required
Transfers are subject to availability
Not permitted within 48 hours
5. Emergency Contact Requirement
You must provide a reachable emergency contact for group activities.
6. Eligibility & Disclosure
Your dog must:
Be physically fit to participate
Be free from contagious illness
Be vaccinated or titre tested
You must disclose:
Behavioural history
Reactivity or bite history
Medical conditions
Failure to disclose may result in removal without refund.
7. Health & Veterinary Care
If your dog becomes unwell, we may end the session.
In emergencies, we may seek veterinary care at your expense.
8. Female Dogs in Season
Must be discussed prior to attendance. Alternative arrangements may be offered.
9. Late Arrival
Arrive 5–10 minutes early
Late arrivals may not be able to join
No refunds for missed sessions
10. Physical Ability
You are responsible for ensuring your dog can safely participate in terrain, distance, and conditions.
11. Emotional Safety Clause
We prioritise emotional well-being:
Sessions may be adjusted or paused
Dogs are never forced beyond their limits
Sessions may end early if needed
12. Walk Types & Interaction Rules
Neutral Walks — No Contact
No interaction between dogs
Maintain distance at all times
Social Walks — Structured Interaction
Controlled, brief, respectful interactions only
No overwhelming or uncontrolled behaviour
These are not free-for-all play sessions.
13. Off-Lead Policy
Only with prior approval
Controlled release (one at a time)
Must demonstrate appropriate behaviour and recall
Dogs remain your responsibility at all times.
14. Assessment Requirement
Required before Social Walks or Adventure Hikes.
We assess:
Behaviour and triggers
Communication and comfort levels
Suitability for group work
We may recommend alternative services if needed.
15. Behaviour, Reactivity & Muzzles
Reactive dogs must wear a suitable basket muzzle where required.
If safety requirements are not met, participation may be refused.
16. Guardian Code of Conduct
No harsh handling or punishment
Follow guidance at all times
Respect the space of all dogs
Remain attentive and in control of your dog
17. Complaints & Feedback
Please contact us directly. We aim to resolve concerns respectfully.
18. Bookings, Payments & Cancellations
Full payment required at booking
48+ hours notice → refund/credit
Less than 48 hours → non-refundable

19. Liability, Insurance & Responsibility
We hold valid public liability insurance.
We are trained in canine first aid and will act in your dog’s best interests in an emergency.
You agree that:
You are responsible for your dog at all times
You are liable for any damage or injury caused by your dog
Participation is at your own risk
We are not liable for:
Injury caused by your dog
Loss or damage to belongings
Incidents arising from undisclosed information
The inherent unpredictability of working with animals
20. Assumption of Risk
Working with dogs involves inherent risks.
By attending, you acknowledge and accept these risks voluntarily.
21. Photography & Media
We may take photos and videos during sessions for use in:
Social media
Marketing and promotional materials
Website content
By attending, you consent to your dog (and you, where visible) being included in such content.
If you do not wish to be photographed or filmed, you must notify us before your session.
We will always aim to respect your preferences.
Previously published content may remain in use where consent was given at the time.
22. Weather Conditions
Sessions may be altered or cancelled due to unsafe conditions.
23. Children
Children must be supervised at all times.
24. Data Protection & Privacy
We comply with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
Personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
25. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales.
