Social Skills Walks

Building Confidence, Understanding & Real-Life Skills

£15

Approximately 1.5 Hours

A supported step between Neutral Walks and Social Walks.

At Adventures with Tilley, Social Skills Walks are designed for dogs and their humans who are ready to begin building confidence, understanding, and real-life skills with guidance and support.

This is where things start to come together.

Before You Join

To ensure the right fit for both you and the group, all new clients must complete a 1:1 assessment before joining Social Skills Walks.

This allows us to:

  • Understand your dog’s behaviour, needs, and triggers

  • Make sure this is the right next step

  • Set you up with the right guidance from the start

  • Keep all dogs and owners safe and supported

We will always recommend the most suitable starting point for your dog, whether that’s Neutral Walks, Social Skills, or alternative support.

Who These Walks Are For

Social Skills Walks are ideal for dogs who:

  • Are not quite ready for full Social Walks

  • Can cope at a distance but need help progressing

  • Are unsure around other dogs or people

  • Show frustration, over excitement, or inconsistent behaviour

  • Are wary of strangers or unfamiliar situations

  • Need guidance to build safe, appropriate interactions

And for owners who:

  • Want to better understand their dog

  • Need support and reassurance

  • Want to feel more confident in real-life situations

What to Expect

Owners attend with their dogs, and training is built into every walk.

You’ll be supported to:

  • Continue improving communication with your dog

  • Read and respond to body language in real time

  • Support calm, appropriate social interactions

  • Navigate real-life situations with confidence

This is about progress, not perfection and building consistency in everyday environments

What Makes These Walks Different

These are not free-for-all group walks.

Each walk is:

  • Calm and structured

  • Carefully managed to support all dogs

  • Focused on safe, appropriate interactions

  • Designed to prevent overwhelm and reduce pressure

There is always guidance available, and dogs are supported at the level they are comfortable with.

How It Works

  • Small, balanced groups

  • Structured walk setups

  • Guidance provided throughout

  • Space and distance used where needed

  • Dogs supported as individuals within the group

Every walk is adapted to suit the dogs attending.

Locations

Walks take place across East Kent, including:

  • Woodland areas

  • Countryside routes

  • Quiet open spaces

  • River paths

Locations are chosen to allow space, safety, and controlled exposure.

Important Information

  • Dogs must be on a secure harness and lead (long line where appropriate) until instructed otherwise

  • Reactive Dogs must be muzzled

  • Owners are responsible for their dog at all times

Full guidance is provided before attending.
